Embedded operating guidance

• Calculate total service minutes as round-trip travel minutes plus diagnostic minutes plus repair labor minutes plus parts-handling minutes. Require at least one of these time inputs to be greater than zero before showing results.
• Calculate the time-based cost as total service minutes divided by 60 and multiplied by the required labor rate. Add direct job cost and overhead allocation, multiply that subtotal by one plus the target buffer percentage divided by 100, then use the greater of that result or the service-call minimum as the minimum profitable charge.
• Calculate usable weekly minutes as weekly available technician hours multiplied by 60 and by one minus the capacity reserve percentage divided by 100. The appointment ceiling is the whole-number floor of usable weekly minutes divided by total service minutes.
• Report the largest of travel, diagnostic, repair, and parts-handling minutes as the limiting time bottleneck, including ties. Show a bottleneck warning when one category exceeds 50 percent of total service minutes.
• Apply the decision in this order: Decline when already-booked comparable appointments are at or above the appointment ceiling; otherwise Reprice when the proposed customer price is below the minimum profitable charge; otherwise Accept. After an Accept result, remaining capacity equals the greater of zero or the appointment ceiling minus already-booked appointments minus one.
