# Fieldgrid 1.0

Original responsive WordPress collections for posts, public custom post types and WooCommerce products. Build and save a design in WordPress, place a shortcode on a page, and let visitors search, filter, sort and browse real published content.

## Install

1. Extract the customer kit. In WordPress, open **Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin**.
2. Choose **dist/fieldgrid-plugin-1.0.0.zip**, install and activate. The outer customer-kit ZIP contains documentation and is not the upload file.
3. Open **Fieldgrid** in the administrator sidebar. Create a collection, choose a public content source and matching taxonomy (for example Posts / Categories, or Products / Product categories), then **Save collection**.
4. Copy the read-only shortcode shown after saving. In a WordPress page, add a **Shortcode** block, paste it, and preview the page. A collection save does not publish or edit a page.

Alternative: copy the `fieldgrid` directory to `wp-content/plugins/`, then activate it. No build step, npm, external API, licence server or extra frontend library is required.

## Design the collection

Give the collection a clear name and short introduction. Choose an equal grid, masonry columns or horizontally scrolling collection, and an editorial, cover-overlay or quiet skin. Adjust desktop columns, spacing and items per page. Tablet layouts use two columns; narrow layouts use one. Horizontal collections scroll sideways and use card snapping. Category filtering, search, sort and excerpts can each be disabled. Use sensible column counts for your page width.

A missing thumbnail receives original decorative vector artwork. Featured images use the WordPress Media Library and theme image sizes. Card headings are the keyboard-focusable destination; decorative images do not create duplicate tab stops. Product cards show WooCommerce's formatted price and product link; they do not add products to carts or submit payments.

## Back up and move a design

Open a saved collection and choose **Export JSON design**. The downloaded JSON contains configuration only. In another WordPress site with the same public post type and taxonomy available, use **Choose JSON design → Import design**. Import creates a new collection; it never overwrites existing designs. Category IDs, posts, product data, media, site addresses and credentials are not transferred. The included `samples/field-notes-design.json` is an importable Posts / Categories example; the PNG illustrations may be added through the ordinary WordPress Media Library.

Invalid designs, unsupported sources/taxonomies and files over64KB are rejected before creating a grid. A failed visitor request preserves the previous cards and reports a retryable error. Search is limited to100 characters, query pages to24 items and page numbers to1000. Collection dropdowns show up to100 nonempty taxonomy terms. With JavaScript disabled, the first page remains visible; interactive grid filtering and pagination require JavaScript.

## Privacy, roles and content

Only an administrator with `manage_options` can create/import/export designs, and all state-changing actions check a WordPress nonce. The public read-only endpoint exposes only saved, published grid output. Draft/private/future/password-protected content is excluded even when an administrator is viewing the page. WooCommerce catalogue-hidden products are excluded; out-of-stock exclusion follows the store setting. No customer/order information is queried or changed.

The plugin makes same-origin content requests. It includes no telemetry, external fonts, CDN assets, social streams, update service or remote imports. A host/theme/other plugin may make its own network calls. Independent grids keep separate filter, search and page state. The plugin does not promise compatibility with every theme, page builder, cache or server database; test in staging first.

## Supported and tested scope

Requires WordPress6.6+, PHP8.1+. WooCommerce is optional and must be active for product sources. Local QA environment: WordPress7.1.3, WooCommerce11.2.1, PHP8.5.5 and the official SQLite Database Integration plugin. This is a real WordPress test runtime; it is not a MySQL/MariaDB certification. Local source verification passed41 real PHP/WordPress integration checks. Seven genuine supported IAB cases covered first desktop/narrow document navigation without reload, admin save and real page use, invalid-source preservation, actual JSON download/native chooser/import/re-export byte equality, imported shortcode output, and final desktop/narrow visual and keyboard checks. The current source and actual screenshots/downloads are recorded outside the customer ZIP. Independent QC and any publication remain separate.

Excluded: external social feeds/OAuth, custom executable templates, media-playback/lightbox tools, page-builder-specific blocks, shopping-cart operations and automatic publication. There is no uninstall data-deletion action; removing the plugin through WordPress leaves saved grid records intact for later reuse.

## Licence and support

Original files use `LICENSE.txt`, the approved Nishvault paid customer terms. Third-party software in the separate local QA runtime retains its own rights and is not redistributed in the customer kit. This one-time package includes documentation; it includes no hosted service, guaranteed personal support, SLA, update schedule or result guarantee. See `THIRD_PARTY.md`.
