# Atlasmere 1.0 — geographic map studio

An original standalone geographic map generator: edit country regions, add coordinate markers and export portable interactive maps. The included LICENSE.txt permits use and customization of original Nishvault files in the purchaser's own personal and commercial projects and sharing finished outputs. The selected offer is USD19 one-time, external tax; applicable taxes are calculated at checkout. A license in this local package does not activate provider checkout, payment or public release. A separate usable fixed free map lives in preview/ under its own LICENSE.txt.

## Install and use

Extract the ZIP, preserving folders, and open app/index.html in a modern browser. If your browser restricts local file behavior, serve the extracted product directory using `python3 -m http.server 8798 --bind 127.0.0.1`, then open http://127.0.0.1:8798/app/index.html. No account, API key, geolocation permission, tile provider, paid service or runtime network connection is needed. The filled Aster routes sample is fictional: four highlighted countries and two synthetic workshop markers.

Search a country and select it, or click/focus a map region. Edit its title, plain-text description, optional HTTP/HTTPS destination, color and Highlight checkbox; choose Apply place changes. Region geometry comes from real Natural Earth data. Change Map focus to the world, continent or a single country, then Apply map settings. Change ocean/base colors and the map introduction in the same form. Regions can be explored even when not highlighted, so visitors can inspect basic country names. Use the list for tiny countries; the dataset omits some small territories. The browser's native SVG title tooltip supplies hover information, and clicking/Enter/Space opens the readable detail panel/link.

Add a marker with New marker name/latitude/longitude/Add marker, or choose Place marker and click the map. Edit the selected marker's title, description, safe destination, color, WGS84 coordinates and size; Apply. Delete marker removes it, Undo restores it, Redo repeats the edit. Coordinates are degrees, longitude–180..180 and latitude–90..90. Marker size3–30 remains the same relative value in version1 JSON files; existing coordinates and saved size values are preserved. Visible dots use 12–28 CSS pixels (default size5: 20px), plus a 2px outline on each side, at every world/continent/country focus. Selection changes the outline color without enlarging it. A separate transparent 44px hit target helps pointer use; use the Country/Venue selectors to choose tightly clustered markers. Static SVG uses the same non-scaling strokes as HTML. Example coordinates are approximate city centers, not real offices. The app never requests your location or geocodes text.

Form fields apply when you press their Apply button. Select a different item only after applying current edits. Undo/Redo retain up to40 committed project states. A browser draft is saved on commits and restored on reopen; download JSON for durable portable backups. Save project includes all geometry, settings, regions and markers. Open project restores that file. Loading a sample/import/project over changed work asks for confirmation; download a backup first. Clipboard embed generation falls back to selectable code if clipboard access is unavailable.

## GeoJSON and geography

Import GeoJSON accepts a WGS84 longitude/latitude FeatureCollection of Polygon or MultiPolygon features, including holes. Use feature.id or properties.id for stable unique safe identifiers, properties.name for labels and optional properties.continent for focus groups. Maximum500features,100000vertices total,20000vertices/ring,500polygonparts/feature,100rings/polygon,12MBproject/import. Rings must be closed and enclose area. Only finite longitude/latitude within valid bounds is accepted; projected CRS, Point/LineString and malformed JSON are rejected. Import replaces the current geography; it does not silently merge IDs or existing editorial data. You must have rights to your custom data. samples/custom-districts.geojson is a filled synthetic example with two districts and an interior hole.

The bundled 177 country features come from Natural Earth110m, projected equirectangularly. Low-resolution borders, multipart islands, source naming and disputed boundaries follow the bundled dataset; they are illustrative rather than legal, cadastral, routing or navigation data. There is no promise that every territory, municipality or US state is bundled. Bring an appropriately licensed GeoJSON for those detailed administrative maps. Focus uses the full bounds of the source geometry; countries or continents spanning the antimeridian may occupy much of the world view. The source GeoJSON and retrieval SHA are documented separately; the original raw file is preserved for reproducibility.

## Export and integration

Export HTML downloads one file with actual SVG geometry, all editorial data and a small independent click/keyboard viewer. It does not include the editor, history, account integration or telemetry. Open that exact downloaded file to explore the result. The viewer also has labeled Country and Venue selectors: choose a place to open the same detail panel without targeting small map shapes. Highlighted countries appear first; on narrow screens the controls stack into full-width fields. Selecting a country clears the venue selection; map clicks and keyboard selections keep the controls in sync. Export static SVG gives vector paths, labels/title descriptions and markers; use HTML for interactive detail panels. Copy iframe embed copies an escaped srcdoc iframe, including the full standalone viewer/data; paste where your CMS permits iframe/srcdoc JavaScript. It uses sandbox allow-scripts/allow-popups without allow-same-origin. Do not weaken your site's security policy; a CMS may strip or limit large iframe code. Adjust iframe height to suit your page. samples/embed-example.html demonstrates two independent frame instances; each has its own selections and detail panel. Outputs are responsive, not screenshots.

## Privacy, licenses and maintenance

Offline editor, free fixed preview and exported maps contain no tracking/network calls. Destination links navigate only when a visitor chooses them. Project content and browser drafts stay local; avoid including personal/sensitive data. The optional hosted.html/hosted-metrics.js files are separate publisher preparation, excluded from customer ZIP: exact approved nishvault.com routes, fixed anonymous export/page events, DNT/GPC honored, no map IDs/content/marker coordinates/filenames/URLs collected. Adapter unit tests do not prove production metric persistence or organic traffic.

LICENSE.txt grants the approved purchaser rights above. Do not resell or redistribute the source/editor package as a standalone product or template, or claim authorship of the original files. Setup and use documentation is included; no hosted service, guaranteed personal support, SLA, update schedule or business-result guarantee is provided. The fixed preview's canonical free terms apply only to preview files. Natural Earth data remains public domain; keep data/NATURAL_EARTH_NOTICE.txt and THIRD_PARTY.md separate from original product rights. No guaranteed support/SLA/update schedule. No physical-device, alternate-browser-engine or full WCAG certification is claimed.

For development, install locked jsdom with `npm ci --ignore-scripts`; run `node --test tests/core.test.cjs tests/editor.test.cjs tests/metrics.test.cjs tests/viewer.test.cjs`. Rebuild example artifacts with `node scripts/build_sample.cjs`; package with `python3 scripts/package.py`. No tests/dev dependencies/aggregate QA are shipped inside the customer ZIP. Preserve source/receipt hashes for maintenance. Publisher must verify the actual approved LICENSE hash, independent current QC and current live checks before distribution or checkout. Historical proposals and QA/development files are excluded from the customer ZIP; their maintenance records remain separate.
